Front-End Web Development with General Assembly + NYDesigns
Taught by top practitioners in the field, the course will give aspiring web developers the skills and best practices they need to succeed. In an intimate class of twenty, students will be immersed in a social learning environment where they will learn by doing.
Turn your plans into reality.
In this comprehensive course, we will give students with no prior development experience a foundation in the skills and best practices they need to implement their designs, build prototypes, and work more effectively with developers.
It’s no secret that the most innovative businesses are looking for web designers with strong front-end skills in basic mark-up languages and Javascript. This demand can be seen daily at the startups working at our campus in New York and across industries—from fashion to finance. We also meet talented designers who are eager to fill these roles, but lack the technical know-how. That’s why we’ve developed an accelerated curriculum that will provide creative professionals and entrepreneurs with core front-end web development skills.
Learn by doing.
General Assembly’s ten-week certification program provides in-depth instruction in each of the key languages and skills used in front-end development. Students will progress through units on HTML, CSS, and jQuery. By the completion of the program, students will be able to transform a creative vision into a concrete final project. These projects will be formally assessed, and students who meet all the outlined requirements will earn General Assembly certificate in Front-End Web Development.
This ten-week program will be held from June 11th to August 17th, 2012. Class meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., for a total of 60 hours of instruction.
Interested students are invited to complete an application here. All applicants commit to attending if accepted and must be able pay the $3,000 tuition within ten days of acceptance. Selection decisions will be made on a rolling basis until May 21st.
